Recordings

I have had the good fortune of having  friend and talented  voice artist Diane Havens record  three of my stories for audio project.  Please listen. The work will convince you of the  possibilities of audio versions of stories and present an amazing experience that is beyond the mere reading of the words.  As a writer I “sound out” characters’ voices, and as I re-read stories during editing, I silently read them aloud, so to speak, to see if the rhythm and meter of the phrasing makes sense.  But these readings go well beyond that to expose the sensations the characters are feeling and to put those sensations into sounds in a way that makes it hard to pull  away.  These recordings are the work of a gifted actor who knows how to draw out character in a story, to find the joy, anquish and meaning of their lives.  These readings are true artisty.

Please listen and enjoy
